7 Easy Steps to Use a T-shirt press machine

T-shirt press machines are a great way to create customized t-shirts for your group or event. You can easily make shirts with names, logos, and images that you design on them. The process of using a T-shirt press machine is fairly simple, but there are some steps you need to take before you begin. In this article, we will give 7 easy steps that will help get the most out of your best T-shirt press machine!

1. Clean and dry your shirts

Step One: Clean and dry your t-shirts before you put them in the press machine. Some people get carried away with this step, but it is really important to clean all of the dust and dirt off that might have accumulated on the shirt from being stored or sitting around for a while. It’s also helpful to use an iron to remove any wrinkles from the shirt before you proceed.

2. Place the shirt on the press machine bed

Step Two: Place the t-shirt on the press machine bed, lining up your design to copy from with what you want it to appear on. Make sure that the fabric is centered and lined up evenly in all four corners before pressing down firmly.

This will help ensure a better-finished product!  It’s also important to make sure that the shirt is smooth and wrinkle-free to get a nice, even imprint.

3. Adjust the height of the presser to match your shirt size

Step Three: Adjust the height of the presser to match your shirt size. You should always have this done before you start so there won’t be any issues when it comes time for printing or pressing!  Measure from where the edge of the bed is, all along one side, and mark that spot as “0” with a marker. If you’re using a T-shirt press machine with adjustable height, make sure that the marker is at level “0” before proceeding.

When placing your shirt on the bed for printing or pressing, use this number to measure where it should be placed and set so there won’t be any alignment issues later on!  This will save time and make the project go smoothly.

Note: The number “0” in this example is on the left and will be for a shirt that starts from the top of your body going down to your waist, so measure accordingly if you have an XL or XXL size!  If it’s more than one person using the press machine, make sure that they all know what number is “0.”

4. Use a heavy object, like a book, to keep pressure on top of the shirt while it’s being pressed

Step Four: Use a heavy object, like a book, to keep pressure on top of the shirt while it’s being pressed. This will help make sure that there are no air bubbles and ensure better quality prints!

It is important not to lift up too early or take off the weight prematurely; this can cause considerable damage to your printed design.

5. Press down and hold for 8-10 seconds before releasing pressure

Step Five: Press down and hold for about eight to ten seconds before releasing pressure. This will help make sure that the ink is set into the fabric and won’t rub off easily.  It also helps avoid any air bubbles from forming in your design!

Holding it this long should give you a nice, even imprint of what you wanted.

6. Repeat several times until you are satisfied with how wrinkled or creased your t-shirt is (the more you repeat this process, the more wrinkles)

Step Six: Repeat this process several times until you are satisfied with how wrinkled or creased the t-shirt is. The more you repeat, the more wrinkles will form in your shirt!  It’s important to make sure that they’re still flat and not too deep when it comes time for printing; otherwise, the ink might come off when you put it in the press machine.

Keep these instructions in mind and you’ll be well on your way to getting a great finished product!

7. Remove from press and enjoy!

Step Seven: Remove the shirt from the press and enjoy!  You can hang it up to dry or lay flat on a clothing rack. It’s always important to keep them away from anything sharp so they don’t get ruined before you wear them again.

It is also helpful, after drying, to iron out any wrinkles for that nice, crisp look.
